Title: SAN EngineerLocation: Albany, NYDuration: 6-12 month contractベ Minimum eight (8) years experience in administering and supporting IT systems. ベ Minimum of four (4) years experience in installing, configuring, performance tuning and troubleshooting Fiber Channel Storage Area Networks including SAN Directors and switches. ベ Minimum two (2) years experience implementing, administering and supporting IBM storage systems. ベ Minimum of one the following certifications (copy of certification required): ベ IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - System Storage ベ IBM Certified Specialist - XIV Storage System Technical Solutions ベ IBM Certified Specialist - Open Systems Storage Solutions ベ IBM Certified Specialist - High-End Disk for Open Systems ベ IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Networking Solutions ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS Candidates must also have two (2) of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position. Experience implementing and supporting XIV Storage System. Experience with SLES version 10 or higher configuration and administration. Experience with VMWARE ESX version 3.5 or higher configuration and administration Experience with AIX version 5 or higher configuration and administration Experience with Windows Server 2003 or higher configuration and administration. Experience with EMC Networker backup products. Experience with StorageTek or IBM LTO4 tape drives. Skills: Client manages 24x7 critical systems in which are required to be highly available. The Specialist III will assist client technical support staff in monitoring and maintaining existing Storage Area Network (SAN) consisting of IBM SAN equipment. This SAN supports mission-critical legacy applications running on IBM P-Series, Sun Solaris, Linux and Windows servers. In addition the resource will provide support for the installation, configuration and administration of new SAN hardware running at an off-site data center (within 5 miles of client location) that will provide off-site high availability and disaster recovery.
